Women's Hockey at YMCC

In 2026 the Club plans to have four Senior turf grade teams and three midweek Masters teams consisting of players from elite level to our former stalwarts, now playing in the Masters teams. There are two women's grass teams that play Saturday afternoons.

We also provide a pathway for our junior girls to get experience playing in out senior teams, exposing talented players to a higher level of competition. This helps our juniors to make the transition to seniors and continue playing hockey.

Registration must be completed before Round 1 to be eligible to play.

Training

Top Squad training for the 2026 season is now underway!

The Squad will be both running and picking up the sticks at Perry Lakes and Lemnos Field, if you haven’t already contacted either Hayley please make sure you let them know that you are ready to hit the turf again.

This season the club training night will be Monday, with the top squad training on one other day as well. Turf training for all members will commence on a date to be confirmed at Lemnos Field.

Times will be announced in the coming weeks.

Preseason fitness will start this soon. There are two options on offer. All juniors in year 9 or older are invited to attend, regardless of whether you intend to play senior hockey this year.

Those with aspirations to play in the Premier league (YMCC 1 or 2): You are invited to train with Hayley Carter (our YM 1's coach). These sessions commence in February, starting at the Perry Lakes Clubrooms . If you are a junior or senior player wanting to get an experience of premier league training, you are invited to attend. If you wish to be considered for selection in the YM1 team, you must attend these sessions. If you are unavailable for any of these, please contact Hayley immediately.

Season 2026

The 2026 hockey season start dates are as follows:

Women's premier 1 grade commences on the weekend 27th to 29th March, 2026
Women's premier 3 grade and turf divisions commence on the weekend of 11th-12th of April 2026.
Metropolitan grades commence on Saturday 11th April 2026.
Midweek masters commence the week beginning Monday 13th April 2026
